Eberly College of Arts and Sciences

Multidisciplinary Studies, BMDS

The Multidisciplinary Studies Program is comprised of three related minors. The program doesn't limit you to courses in a particular area, but rather stresses the importance of breadth of knowledge and cross-disciplinary communication.

The program emphasizes flexibility and combines specialized knowledge from individual disciplines with a unique ability to approach problems from divergent perspectives.

You'll learn to apply your minors to real-world problems through a community-based internship and to apply multidisciplinary techniques in communicating the strengths of your self-chosen course of study.

In the Multidisciplinary Studies Program, you can take advantage of the vast resources available in the Eberly College of Arts and Sciences, but you're not limited to any one of the University’s colleges when making decisions as to which minors to pursue. This allows you to take advantage of the excellence of WVU’s faculty across the entire spectrum of academic offerings.

Tailor your education to your interests by completing three related minors.

In the MDS Program, you'll choose three minor areas and demonstrate how those fields of study work together to further your educational and career goals.

MDS faculty and advisers will guide you in designing the right program to suit your individual interests and goals.

You may add a fourth minor to complement your three core minors, but you may not earn a minor in your own major field of study.
