On Saturday, April 5, at Decide WVU, we’re rolling out the gold and blue carpet just for future Mountaineers like you.

Check-in

Check-in starts at 8:30 a.m. at the WVU Coliseum. Parking is available in the WVU Coliseum lots.

Transportation is provided throughout the event and returns you to the WVU Coliseum at the end of the program.

Tips for Attending

  • Optional Friday activities will be available.
  • Breakfast and lunch on Saturday will be provided.
  • Dress for the weather and wear comfortable clothes and shoes.
  • Review the schedule before the event.

Get Your Gear — and a Discount

WVU Bookstores is offering a special discount for Decide WVU guests!

The Decide WVU program you receive at check-in will include a coupon for 10% off all WVU items (clothing, gifts) and at the Café during Decide WVU Open House. Valid in-store and online. Discount not valid for textbooks and electronics, and certain other exclusions may apply.

Friday, April 4

Friday On-Your-Own Activities

9:00 a.m.

Experience campus and Morgantown on your own! Tours, events, shows and Mountaineer fun!

  • WVUp All Night, 10 p.m.-2 a.m. at the Mountainlair — If you are in town Friday night, stop by WVUp All Night! This weekly student event features activities, games, food and giveaways — all FREE to our students and their guests. You can enjoy our PC Gaming Lounge, make DIY crafts or catch a movie. Bowling, billiards and virtual reality gaming are available in our Games Area. We’re serving snacks as well! No need to show anything — just tell the folks at the door that you are part of Decide WVU.
  • Tour WVU! — Want to tour campus before Saturday’s event? Register for tours through the Visitors Center. Friday tours are available at 9 a.m., 10 a.m., noon and 1 p.m. Or we have a special tour slot just for you at 3 p.m. Register for 3 p.m. Decide WVU Tour.
  • Visit the WVU Art Museum from 12:30-6 p.m. and view more than 4,000 paintings, prints, works on paper, sculpture, and ceramics with messages for you from across the globe and over the centuries.
  • Join us for a 2-hour marquee World Music event with two available start times to choose from (6 p.m. or 7 p.m.). Buy tickets.
  • Find restaurants, hotels, shopping, outdoor recreation and more by checking Visit Mountaineer Country.

Visiting with students and experts from your academic area

Each academic college and school will hold its own academic session. Attend the session for the school or college that houses the major that you’ve been admitted into (hint: check your nametag during dismissals!

Lunch (also free!)

11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Lunch is on us! Use the meal ticket you receive at check-in to enjoy lunch. We recommend checking out one of our three dining halls while you’re on campus:

Walking Tours

11:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Join our tour leaders for a short walk around either the Downtown or Evansdale area of campus. Tours will run on demand, and you’ll be able to see a variety of buildings that you’ll be interacting with as a student while also getting key information. We recommend touring the area of campus your academic session is in!

Lab Visits

12:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Love science or maybe not so much? Check out a lab on campus that will be part of your general education requirements or go more in depth for your major. You'll have the chance to meet with current students and/or faculty working in the labs.

Residence Hall Show Rooms Open

12:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Haven’t picked your housing assignment yet? See a sample room in any of our residence halls during this time. We will have staff available in each hall ready to show off the space and answer any questions. Note: If you have selected your housing already, you will have the opportunity to see a show room during New Student Orientation this summer.

Student Life Fest

12:30 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Stop by the WVU Coliseum to talk with representatives from student support services and student-led clubs and organizations. We’ll show you there’s something for everyone — from Project 168 to the Honors College, Campus Recreation, a huge variety of student clubs/orgs and more!

Saturday On-Your-Own Activities

1:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Experience campus and WVU Athletics on your own!

  • WVU Football Gold-Blue Spring Showcase – 1 p.m. at Milan Puskar Stadium. The Spring Showcase offers an early look at the Mountaineers as they prepare for the upcoming season. Admission is FREE, but note that all fans must claim a ticket for entry.
  • WVU Men's Soccer vs. Georgetown – 3 p.m. at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium. Entry is FREE for all!
  • WVU Baseball vs. Utah – 4 p.m. at Wagener Field at Kendrick Family Ballpark. (ticket info to come!)
