Learn about being a Summer 2025 Orientation Leader.
Apply ASAP for consideration.
Orientation Leaders (OLs) will represent WVU at New Student Orientation throughout the summer months, mainly during May and June. OLs assist prospective students and their families during day-long orientation sessions by sharing information about resources and services on campus, providing excellent customer service, and showcasing the WVU campus and its community.
OLs will participate in various tasks throughout each day including, but not limited to:
OLs should be knowledgeable and enthusiastic about WVU, and have excellent communication skills and a customer service-oriented attitude.
OLs will be contracted to work 7 a.m.–5 p.m. on the following:
NOTE: This does not mean that you will work these hours every day, but you should not plan for anything else during these hours pending your assigned schedule.
OLs will be expected to work all open house events (Discover and Decide WVU) from the point of hire forward. These dates will be given to you well in advance. In addition to the Open House Events, OLs must also sign-up to work one other university event/opportunity at the discretion of the orientation staff — examples of this would be Welcome Week, Distinguished Scholars and Junior Open House.
Other event opportunities are available, as well as the possibility to work a regular weekly schedule throughout the year in the Office of Admissions.
OLs must complete and attend all training sessions. Training will take place May 21-30 (excluding the weekend and Memorial Day on May 27).
OLs cannot take summer classes in-person during the first summer session.
Apply ASAP to be considered. We will hire until positions are filled.
